Title and Branding
Continuing on same basics of the portal, it's important to identify and provide a title for users in the "Portal Title" field. This will appear to the left of the portal when the user logs in so it can be something as basic as "Portal" or you can include your company name:
The entry results in this:
The second field, called "Brand Name" will be merged into email template notifications. See this
article for more detail. The best value to use is your company name.
The "Date Format" will determine how date fields are displayed in columns throughout the portal. For example, selecting "January 5, 2026" will set each module's date format.
Enabling the "Show Company Logo" checkbox will display the client logo to the left of the portal title. This image is pulled from the CRM's record (depending on the portal type, will pull from the Contact, Account or Vendor record).
The "Menu Width" will lengthen the menu and might be useful for longer menu names. For example, entering 450px from 250px in this field has this effect:
At 250px:
To 450px:
The "Portal Width" field will widen the portal overall. Note that there might be other factors that affect this- the page template selected or any CSS that might overwrite this setting. Aside from percentages, you can use px values.
CRM Field Map
You can manage some of the portal user data directly from the CRM contact record. This section should be enabled in order to send some data to the CRM. The ZPortals CRM Marketplace extension will add these fields to the contact record. See this
article for more information.
For example, you can track when users last login, deactivate them from the Contact or set their User Profile:
Here is an explanation of the fields:
User Name - this field should be the same as the email address. It is necessary for the user to properly sync with the WordPress user (it is not possible to change the WordPress username).
Last Login Date - the date field on the CRM contact record will be updated to today's date, when the user logs in to the portal.
Assigned Profile - this field is a single line field from the ZPortals extension but you can use a custom pick list if you prefer. See this
article for more information. When it is assigned in the CRM, the value will be sent to the user in ZPortals:
Deactivate User - this will revoke a user's access to the portal. Note that it will only trigger when the user attempts to log in.
User Permissions - a static picklist field that by default is set to read / write permissions. Changing it to "Read Only" on a Contact record will overwrite any other edit permissions in the portal, for that user as long as the field is mapped properly.
