Profiles allow you to group different types of users and customize the portal around their type. Examples of this include prospects versus clients, students versus teachers or billing versus operations.
Here are some other things you can do with Profiles:
Create Dashboards by User Profile
Hide/Show menus by User Profile
Enable a different landing page in place of the Home Dashboard (from the portals menus) upon login
Set specific field permissions to Read/Write, Read Only, or Do Not Show
Create custom pages and layouts by User Profiles
You can automatically assign User Profiles using a field in the CRM as long as that field is mapped in our Portal Setup menu.
Select the "Add Profile" button at the top right:
Name the new User Profile and select the menus that users in this profile should see:
