Portal Type - Contact Based / Account / Vendor Based Setup

We offer three Portal Types to optimize the User experience - Account Based (Default) portal, Vendor Based portal and Contact Based portal. Please note that once you select one option, you will not be able to revert to the other option without uninstalling, reinstalling and reconfiguring the plugin in WordPress.

The best way to determine which portal type is best is based on the following needs:

- Do you intend to display Zoho Finance data and if so, what is the current sync setting between Zoho CRM and Finance? Is the bill to on transactions set to companies or contacts (individuals) or a mix of both?

- Related to the above, will you show Books Invoices, Estimates or Vendor Purchase Orders?

- To whom are CRM modules that you intend to display in the portal as menus related through look up fields? For example, a custom module of tasks to show in the portal should have a single look up field to the Account for the Default based portal's data field mapping. This lookup field is vital in order to display only the user records, as it relates to their contact in Zoho CRM.

Account Based Portal (Default): If you use the native Zoho CRM Account (and native Contact) module, then please choose portal type "Default" in the Zoho API settings section at the onset of setting up and connecting Zoho apps to the plugin.

Vendor Based Portal: If you use the native Zoho CRM Vendor module and native Contacts are associated properly, choose "Vendor" in the API Settings at the onset of setting up and connecting Zoho CRM.

Contact Based Portal: If you do not use your Accounts or Vendor module, or only some of your contacts have accounts associated with them, use the Contact Based portal option.

In summary, the link that ties everything back to a user in the client portal will be the native Contact record in the CRM.
