ZPortals allows you to create a public directory of a CRM module that is available to all of your website visitors (not only portal Users). It can solve for real estate agents that would like to show open properties, companies that sell products and services, a directory of personnel or any instance where a CRM module contains data that can be shared with anyone, publicly on their WordPress site without having to be a registered site user.
High level features are the ability to use the CRM module fields as filterable on the frontend, the gallery view for a thumbnail list of records and the ability to add external elements (including a custom button in the layout).
Steps to configure Public Access:
Go to Public Access - Settings and enable the module that will work as a public directory and select Update at the bottom right.
This will add the module as a menu to the left below Settings. Click into the newly added menu, toggle on the "Show in user portal" option, copy the short code in the "Shortcode" field and paste it onto a new WordPress page:
See this
article for instructions on creating a WordPress page. Note: select "ZPortals" in the template drop down for optimized formatting.
Back in the ZPortals - Public Access menu, continue editing the settings, i.e., whether to show all or some records in "Data Show Relationship" and whether you want to input a custom title and description in the next section.
In Action Permission, make sure to toggle on "View Products." Note: the most users will ever be able to do is view the records, filter and see attachments.
In View Settings, set records to show in a list or gallery view and make sure to select at least one Field Name:
Decide whether you will allow visitors to filter records using several fields (in User Filters) or one field with all around search functionality (in Universal Search in CRM) and hit "Update."
This will now open up the "Layout" tab. By default, "List View" is enabled. Here you can insert a custom element to display above the list of records using "Add an Element.":
To configure and customize the layout and record views, select "Record View." It has similar functionality as the Customization options for Zoho CRM modules except the fields will not have permissions or requirement options (they will all be view only). You can edit the width or remove fields from the layout:
Preview your updates in the WordPress page created earlier. It's live on the site as soon as the page is published but can be added to a menu on the site for the user to access easily or emailed out of Zoho CRM or Campaigns for advertisement.
You can turn off the menu by de-selecting the module in Settings and simply deleting the page (and removing it from any WordPress menu).
